**Before starting the application- please make sure you have your vet information and the information for 2 personal references. The application cannot be saved and must be completed in one session. **

NOTE: Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL to be considered for adoption, unless not indicated in the pet's bio. With some special needs or more difficult to place dogs, we do open up the adoption area to be able to find the right fit for the pet's specialized needs.

adoption process

Step 1: Complete an adoption application.

Step 2: A Perfect Pooches adoption coordinator will contact you via email or phone to ask any additional questions. The application will be processed (i.e. references called, information verified, etc).

Step 3: Once application is approved, a home visit is scheduled where we bring the dog(s) you are interested in to your home for a meet and greet with family members and existing pets.

Step 4: After meeting the dog we require a minimum overnight waiting period for both parties to consider the decision on adoption.

Step 5: If a match is made the adoption will be finalized, which includes signing of an adoption contract and exchange of medical history on the pet.
